If you’re a fan of Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, Blues, Southern Rock or music in general then you need to listen to The Shouting Matches upcoming album Grownass Man, the go out and pick up the album when it comes out next week, 4/16. In honor of Jack White’s solo album,Blunderbussbeing released today, check out this video interview with him discussing the making of the album. I think it’s fascinating how he talks about the different dynamics that are created in the studio with male and female musicians. Also, his thoughts on record labels is pretty interesting.

Here is a great video of Cat Martino (an artist I was unfamiliar with until today) capturing the process of her creating a song over the course of two days. She gets a little help from Sufjan Stevens who’s touring band she used to be in. You can listen to the full completed song here.
